Instructions for the Almond Ridge Stitch:
Tip: If you start a row with slip stitches, you will always end that row with slip stitches. Alternately, if you start a row with hdc, you will always end that row with hdc.
Row 1: sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 3 ch. [hdc in each of next 4 ch, sl st in each of next 4 ch] Repeat from [ to ] across. Ch 1, turn
Row 2: working in the back loops only in every row from now on make 1 sl st blo in each of first 4 sts, [make 1 hdc blo in each of next 4 sts, make 1 sl st blo in each of next 4 sts.] Repeat from [ to ] across. Ch 1, turn.
This tutorial is just for a practice swatch. However, if you’re a confident crocheter and want to just jump into making a project (blanket, scarf, etc.) then go for it!

Row 4: repeat row 3.
Rows 5 and beyond: repeat rows 1- 4 until your practice swatch (or scarf or blanket!) is your desired length.
