In this article we will show you how to crochet a Tunisian Lace Stitch with beautiful stretch. What is Tunisian crochet? Also known as “afghan crochet,” Tunisian crochet is a needlework technique that combines elements of both knitting and crocheting.
A special hook is needed to complete this method of crochet. First you will need your lovely Tunisian Crochet Hook. Of course you can always use a regular hook especially if you are just making a small sample like I will be showing you, but owner of this project is using 5mm hook and I also recommend this size of hook. Even if you’ve never tried Tunisian lace stitch crochet before, this project is for you.
How to Crochet Tunisian Mesh Stitch ?
The Tunisian Lace Stitch is a stunning crochet stitch that creates a delicate, lacy pattern. It’s a combination of basic Tunisian stitches, such as the Tunisian Simple Stitch and the Tunisian Knit Stitch, which are worked together to create the lace pattern. To create the Tunisian Lace Stitch, you use a Tunisian hook, which is longer than a traditional crochet hook and has a hook on one end and a stopper on the other. You start by working a foundation row of Tunisian Simple Stitches, and then you alternate between the Tunisian Simple Stitch and the Tunisian Knit Stitch in each row. The combination of these two stitches creates a beautiful, openwork pattern that is perfect for scarves, shawls, and other lightweight projects. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crocheter, the Tunisian Lace Stitch is a great stitch to add to your repertoire.
