Today we are going to learn How to Crochet Rib Crochet Border. This simple rib crochet blanket border is a great addition to any blanket. It is a very traditional looking border and can be worked on any blanket. Plus, it is an easy one-row repeat pattern.
There are many other methods to adding a ribbed edge to your crochet project, I’ll share with you my favourite crochet ribbing technique. If you can Double Crochet, Front Post Double Crochet and Back Post double crochet (If you have not learned front post and back post double crochet yet, I highly recommend trying them out. They can add a beautiful ribbing to any project or even be used to create cabling in more advanced patterns), then with step by step tutorial below, you can easily learn how to add the perfect crochet ribbing to your project.
Just remember that you are always alternating front and back post double crochet around the whole blanket, you just happen to be working three of those stitches around the same post when you are working the corners.
If the blanket doesn’t require a border you can still add one using one of the edging techniques shown below for a cleaner look. I mainly use the ribbing stitch for hats so in this little tutorial.
